     Iron is needed for so many things.  So many things you use on a daily basis.  If we didn't have iron, we couldn't get around or get anything done.  Iron is found in cars, appliances, utensils, and medical needs, such as MRI machines.  Iron should be known as a super element.  Iron is rated 17 on the Most Commonly Used Elements.      Iron was discovered in 5000 BC in Mesopotamia.  Iron is most likely to have come from meteorites.  They smelted the iron and used it for religious activities.  Today, we can find iron in the Earths crust.  Iron could also be found in the soil.  It is also an element.  This super element is found in the common compounds ferrous oxide, ferric oxide, and ferrosoferric oxide.  Iron is apart of group 8 and period 4.
